Learn what to watch out for!
For most of us, brushing our hair is a simple act that we do when we wake up in the morning, when we get out of the shower or sometimes, just before we leave the house.
We don't overthink it. Brushing and detangling is a very important process in the hair beauty routine, but one that needs great care because it can create significant damage if not applied correctly. Violent and hasty brushing can cause permanent damage to the roots as well as breakage and split ends.
That's why it's good to know that:
You must comb your hair very gently from the ends to the roots and never the other way around. Movements should be slow, gentle and in no case abrupt.
You start detangling first with a brush with fine teeth to do the preliminary work and then you use the brush that suits your hair. When the brush stops at knots, you don't continue with the same one, but you first use a brush with thinner teeth to untangle them.
The brushes you use should have elasticity and flexible "teeth" with rounded edges. If your hair has styling products or hairspray and it doesn't come out, then spray it first with a special detangling spray, or apply some oil.
Dry hair is more sensitive to brushing and detangling and breaks more easily than wet hair.
When you find it difficult to detangle your hair, you may need to provide it with additional hydration with a mask or even "clean" its damaged ends a bit.
